Mort Bay History Founded in 1995, Mort Bay Consulting Pty. Ltd. began as a consulting services company for its two original principal consultants: Jan Bartel and Greg Wilkins. In late 1995, Mort Bay developed Jetty, a Java Web server that has evolved to become a widely used servlet container and embedded HTTP server. In 1997, Mort Bay Consulting Limited UK was formed as the official agent for the Jetty software package in Europe. In 2006, Mort Bay partnered with Exist to form Webtide, an open source services company. In 2009 Intalio acquired both Mort Bay and Webtide to form a company that can provide a complete, open source based stack for private cloud computing as well as BPM/CRM services. |
Where is Mort Bay? Our company is named after the bay in Balmain, Sydney Australia, where the company was formed. Our logo shows a view of the bay with the Balmain and Sydney skylines in the background. The animated applet below was written against java 1.0 in 1996 and still runs.
